The District 3 Masonic School of Instruction (SOI) is a formal Masonic gathering for Master Masons (those who have received the third degree) to perfect their ritualistic work, learn the esoteric meanings, and deepen understanding of the three Symbolic Degrees (Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, Master Mason) in a structured, educational environment, often involving rehearsals, lectures, and instruction on lodge opening/closing, crucial for maintaining high ritual standards within Freemasonry.
The SOI is run under the guidance of the District Deputy Grand Master for District 3, Brother Timothy C. Dedman, and meets the 4th Monday of the month at 7:30 PM at Big Springs Lodge #361 in Newville, PA. All Master Masons of District 3 are requested to attend the SOI to perfect their skills.
The Principal for District 3 SOI is Brother Daniel K. Confer, PM, and Assistant Principals: Brothers Scott Fogle, PM; Rick Miller, PM; Dennis McClanahan, PM; Robert Lindsay, PM; and Ed Stenger, PM. Click their names to read more about each of these Brothers.
